Thanks the Welsh Pony and Cob Society of Australia for their support in this section.comPETITOR ATTIRE – PLEASE REFER TO THE RASQ REGULATION NO. 12 All horses must be registered with a recognised stud book of the breed and exhibitors must be current financial members of that society.competitors may be asked to physically present a copy of the registration papers or copies thereof, whilst the Exhibitor and the Exhibits are on the Showground and the papers must be produced upon request for perusal by the RASQ Measurers/Identifiers, Ring Steward or other RASQ Authorised Person, so that the animal can be identified prior to competing, or as specified by the RASQ.

THE OFFICIAL MEASURER MUST MEASURE ALL HORSES COMPETING IN CLASSES WHERE HEIGHT IS STIPULATED OR THEY WILL BE INELIGIBLE TO COMPETE. RULES.  The British mountain and moorland breeds (Connemara, Dale, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland and the Welsh breeds) Australian ponies, Fjord and Haflinger ponies be eligible to compete in the Ridden Native Pony classes.  PART BREDS ARE INELIGIBLE TO COMPETE IN THIS SECTION  All animals entered in this class will be judged under saddle and then stripped for judging in hand (2 judges – one for the workout and the other for breed type and conformation)  Marks will be awarded as follows: o Show, freedom of action – 50 maximum; o Breed type, conformation – 50 maximum.  In the case of equality of points, the exhibit with the highest marked show, freedom of action will be deemed the winner.  All entrants should ensure they have a strapper available for the in-hand component of the class to assist removing saddlery and to resaddle.

Strappers should be neatly attired.  All exhibits are to be 4 years and over and registered with the respective breed society.  ALL EXHIBITS ARE TO BE SHOWN UNPLAITED.

A BRIDLE PATH PLAIT IS PERMITTED.  Correct riding attire, including an approved helmet that meets safety standards, must be worn.  Spurs are not permitted.  Whips are permitted, but must not exceed 75 centimeters, including the tail.  The classes will be run under the show regulations of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society of Australia.  The organizing committee reserves the right to divide classes, depending on entries.  While an exhibitor can compete in as many competitions as they like, they can only qualify for the State championship once.

The next highest placed exhibit of each breed after exhibits who have already qualified for the State championship will qualify for the championship to be held at the Welsh Pony and Cob Society of Australia Inc National Show .
