Clothes for riding- Multiple pairs of long pants or breeches, riding boots, helmet, chaps, t-shirts, etc. Clothes for other activities: Shorts, sandals, extra socks, bathing suit, extra t-shirt/tank top, rain jacket(just in case), sleeping attire. Bathroom Supplies: Soap, Shampoo, Washcloth, Towel, Toothbrush, Toothpaste ,Deodorant, Etc Other: Sunscreen, bug spray, Chap Stick, sunglasses, hat, towels, sleeping bag/blow up mattress, sheets, blankets, pillows, flashlights etc. Horse Supplies: Feed (In Individually Labeled Bags enough for 16 Feedings), Grooming Kit, Saddle, Bridle, Multiple Pads, Girth, Boots/Wraps, horse bathing items, etc. Food: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Snacks will be provided.
If your child has special dietary needs please contact us so we can accommodate. Please bring a refillable water bottle, jug or thermos! Activities- This is an overnight camp! Each Camper will be responsible for the care and upkeep of their horse (or borrowed horse).
Campers will be responsible for feeding, grooming, stall care, first aid and horse health.
If your child does not own their own horse we do have several available for lease (Extra Charge.) This camp will provide an in-depth learning experience that will give campers exposure to the basics of equestrian professions.
This camp is appropriate for the those campers who may be considering a future with horses or a rider who wants to indulge their passion.
Training will consist of at least 2 daily sessions of instruction.
This instruction will be based on acquiring the skills to achieve the individual rider’s goals.
Some riding other then arena instruction will include fun events, bareback riding, trail rides, night rides (HUGE LIT ARENA), etc.
This camp offers the opportunity to naturally develop character building through the love of horses and the horseback riding.
Self- Sufficiency, leadership skills, team work, and a “Can Do” attitude is encourage throughout the week.
Riders will be provided with professional training in several different riding styles according to their preferences and ultimate goals.
Including: show jumping, dressage, hunt seat, cross country, western pleasure, reining and much more.
The riding instructors have been carefully selected to ensure they work effectively and kindly with the campers.
During formal lessons, riding groups are small, personalized and grouped according to riding ability so no one is left out or left behind.
Campers come together for late afternoon fun rides, which might include games, trail riding, a desensitization clinic, or costume contests! Campers will also be taught all basic grooming skills, horse washing techniques, basic veterinary procedures, and proper hoof care, which special guests throughout the week, and possibly field trips to a breeding farm and/or a equestrian veterinary facility in town if time allows.
Our camp will be promoting youth responsibility, leadership, proper exercise, a healthy and active lifestyle, social skills, trust of animals, awareness and appreciation of horses and nature, and all of the hard work and dedication that goes into a farm and the animals that live there.
Also multiple different arts & crafts, outdoor games, and hands on activities will be planned throughout the week. We take pride in providing a safe and fun filled summer!
