August/September 2012 Volume 2 Issue 4 Gawler River Pony Club proudly collated by the GRPC Committee 97 Clifford Road Hillier PO Box 406 Gawler SA 5118 Web page: www.gawlerriverponyclub.com PRESIDENTS CHATTER Congratulation to all the Gawler River Riders that participated in the recent Zone Championships..
With such bad weather leading up to the event and then the change of schedule and the ground condition I must commend the riders and the wonderful supporter that did us proud.
Congratulations to those riders that were selected represent the zone and pony club at the State Championship at Strathalbyn.
We have riders in Dressage and the composite games team.
Good luck to you all.
Our Mini ODE will have been completed by the time of the newsletter.
So a big thank you to the new committee members that stepped up to help organize the event.
It was an encourage ODE so we encourage not only new or inexperience riders but also to encourage some other members to take on new roles.
This also included some of our older riders being in the car judging the dressage not on the horse competing.
We may hear from them in the next news letter.
J Thanks also must go to our rally co-ordinater for her wonderful and varied rallies.
Angela spends a lot of time organizing the rallies with instructors and guests, so I am asking members to please appreciate the time and effort that goes into these rallies and show the respect to the guest speakers.
On the matter of rallies, I would really like to see our members in Gawler River pony Club uniform.
This includes our club T-shirt (for summer), Rugby top (for winter), or full uniform, shirt tie and jumper.
Jodhpurs should be solid colours; beige, brown or navy are acceptable for rallies.
Gear should also be clean; this is a reflection on how you look after your gear, your horse and the pride in the club.
We need to take pride in our uniform and wear it to pony club.
Next rally let’s see us all sparkle.
The uniform is outlined in the Information pack.
If you don’t have one please see Liz our Secretary and she will organize to give you one.
It is nice for guest instructor to have a well presented group to instruct.
The mini zones will be our next team club event.
Teams are being organized and a good fun day should be had by all.
If you would like to know more about the mini zones please see a committee member.
As we wind down to the end of the year there is still a lot of competing to do in our zone.
Looking forward to next year there is the dressage circuit and maybe a jumping circuit with ribbons and rugs for the winners.
Reminder that State Championships will be held in much earlier next year so training will start as soon as we return after the Christmas break.
