Horses to be exhibited the first way of the ring at a flat walk, trot/jog and canter/lope by one member of a family; horses to line up and hopefully stand quietly while the first family member dismounts and the second family member mounts.
Mounting blocks and ring attendants will be allowed in the show arena.
Horses to be exhibited the second way of the ring at a flat walk, trot/jog and canter/lope by second family member, then return to the lineup.
Horses may be expected to back readily.
To be judged on suitability of horse to riders.
Arguing among family members will lead to disqualification.
Not limited to any particular tack or style of riding, but it is a tradition of the competition ring that exhibitors be appropriately attired and horses properly presented.
O73 Open Pole Bending Sat aft $20 Open to all breeds.
Horse and rider to proceed at any gait past a timer line to the end of a line of six poles, then turn at the end pole and weave down through the pattern, again turn at the last pole and weave back up.
Then proceed at any gait back home across the timer line.
The fastest time will win.
Pole pattern consists of plastic poles that are set 21 feet apart.
Time line is 21 feet from the first pole.
Poles are 6 feet high and the base is no more than 14 inches in diameter.
If a pole is knocked over, a 5 second penalty is assessed.
O75 Open Combination Pleasure Ride & Drive Sat eve $20 Open to all breeds.
To be shown first in harness to an appropriate vehicle at a walk, pleasure trot and extended/road trot; then under saddle at a walk, pleasure trot, extended/road trot and canter with light rein.
To be judged on performance with an emphasis on manners.
A single exhibitor must drive and ride.
