7.1 7.2 Rallies 7.1.a Club committees decide what uniform or attire must be worn at rallies. 7.1.b For safety, members must always wear approved footwear and, when mounted, an approved equestrian helmet, in accordance with rule 10.5. 7.1.c Singlets or sleeveless garments must not be worn at any time with the exception of a sleeveless vest, which when worn, must be worn over a sleeved garment.
Attire that has not been approved by the club committee must not be worn. 7.1.d Clubs may allow a period of grace before requiring a member to purchase and wear the full pony club uniform at a rally.competitions 7.2.a Pony club sections: To compete at competitions, all pony clubs must have an official uniform.
Uniforms must be approved by the applicable zone and registered through the PCAV state office, in accordance with the Handbook of By-laws. 7.2.b Open sections: Participants must comply with any standards that may be specified by an organising committee.
Such standards must be published in the entry schedule. Uniform 7.3 Official Club Uniform Items 7.3.a The club’s official uniform must consist of only the following garments.
They must only be worn in the combinations detailed in rule 7.4. 7.3.b Traditional: • White shirt with PCAV tie or approved club tie 7.3.c • Woollen V-neck jumper PCAV Logo Garments: • PCAV skivvy • PCAV jacket • PCAV vest • PCAV short-sleeved or long-sleeved polo shirt 7.4 Uniform Combinations 7.4.a Official club uniform items must only be worn in the following combinations: i Woollen V-neck jumper with white shirt and PCAV tie or approved club tie ii PCAV jacket or vest with white shirt and PCAV tie or approved club tie iii A member may remove a jumper, jacket or vest at any time.
Iv A PCAV polo shirt or skivvy may be worn with or without a PCAV jacket or vest.
A woollen V-neck jumper and/or tie must not be worn with a polo shirt or skivvy v Cross country: When competing in cross country, a sleeved garment may be worn, which is either a club registered uniform item as described in rule 7.3 or a non-registered garment in the club colours or white. 7.4.b Members of a team must all wear the same uniform combination at a competition. • PCAV wet weather jacket. 7.3.d PCAV logo garments must only be designed in accordance with rule 7.5. Short Sleeved Polo Shirt Figure 1 14 February 2012 Gear Rules 7.5 7.6 7.7 Approved PCAV Badge, Logo and Emblem 7.7.a As an option, the PCAV badge (Figure 2) may be worn on club jumpers. Club and Zone Logos 7.6.a Embroidered logos are permitted, however sponsorship logos are not permitted. 7.6.b Woollen V neck jumper: either the PCAV logo or club/zone logo may be worn on the front upper left-hand side and must fit within a 75 mm square. 7.6.c PCAV logo garments: i In addition to the mandatory PCAV logo, may have a club/zone logo, which must fit within a 75 mm square and be placed on the front upper right-hand side, ii A rider’s name may be added underneath the club/zone logo in letters of no more than 12mm in size.
Iii May have the club name placed on the back in lettering not more than 50 mm in height. PCAV Logo 7.5.a PCAV logo garments defined in rule 7.3.c may be purchased either through the PCAV nominated supplier or from another supplier of a club’s choosing. 7.5.b Each of the PCAV logo garments detailed in rule 7.3.c must have the authorised PCAV logo fixed to the front upper left-hand side of the garment, in accordance with Figure 1.
The logo must fit within a 75 mm square and the horse’s head face to the centre. 7.5.c The PCAV logo must only be embroidered in one of the club’s registered colours or contrasting colour. 7.5.d No person may create their own PCAV logo.
To ensure consistency, the official PCAV logo template must be used.
The template is available from the PCAV state office for forwarding to embroiderers. 7.7.b The PCAV logo (Figure 3) may be on official PCAV clothing items, in accordance with rule 7.4. Figure 2.
PCAV Badge 7.7.c The PCAV state representatives’ emblem (Figure 4) is only for use on uniforms endorsed by the state council for national competitions. Figure 3.

PCAV state representatives’ emblem for national competitions Gear Rules February 2012 15 7.8 7.9 Optional Enhancements to Uniforms 7.8.a Clubs may enhance their official uniform(s) with trimming, panels, sashes, badges or logos providing the enhancements are approved by the zone and registered at PCAV, in accordance with rule 7.2 and these conditions: i Panels in the club’s registered trim colours may be applied to the PCAV logo garments providing the registered dominant colour remains predominant ii A sash may be applied to the woollen V neck jumper and must be 75 mm wide, worn diagonally over the right shoulder and extend to the base of the garment on the left side.
The sash must be securely attached Optional Items 7.9.a Members may wear the following items at any time without registration: i Official PCAV wet weather jacket ii Riding gloves iii PCAV brass badge iv Efficiency test coloured plastic discs may be worn behind the PCAV brass badge or a material efficiency badge strip measuring not more than 50 mm by 10 mm may be worn under the left-hand side logo.
V Cross country: Refer to rule 7.4.a. 7.10 Prohibited Uniform Items at Competitions 7.10.a Singlets or sleeveless garments: i Must not be worn at any time with the exception of the PCAV vest, in accordance with rule 7.4, which when worn, must be worn over a sleeved garment. 7.10.b Non-PCAV Registered Attire: i Participants must only wear attire approved by the zone and registered, in accordance with rule 7.2 7.11 Penalty 7.11.a The members of a club, which fails to comply with these requirements or have all of its uniform items registered, will be denied entry into competitions and activities until the uniform complies and is registered. 16 February 2012 Gear Rules 8 8.1 8.2
