COMPETITION AND SCORING Teams will be made up of 4 riders from the same club, the top 3 overall scores to count.
Clubs with insufficient riders to make a team may enter 1 or 2 members as Individuals.
If there are sufficient individuals, the show committee will form scramble teams; riders from the same club will be placed together. NOTE: Scramble teams are randomly picked.
In the event of a withdrawal by a competitor the organizing committee may combine or re form teams to allow all competitors to be a member of a team.
The organizing committee is NOT responsible for Club teams.
If a participant withdraws from a club team and there is an individual from said club on a mixed team it is the responsibility of the Club DC, or an appointed representative, to request the individual be transferred to the home team.
Any such transfer can only be done with the permission of the organizing committee prior to the start of the first class. The first round of the competition will be judged as an equitation round for the medal competition, the top 12 riders will return to the ring, after the jump off, to ride the flat portion of the medal class.
ALL riders are asked to remain at the ring until the call back for the medal flat class has been announced. Any rider incurring a fall in either the warm up area or the jumper ring must immediately report to the EMT.
Depending on the severity of the fall they may or may not be allowed to continue in the next round of competition. The organizing committee reserves the right to combine classes with fewer than 5 riders. Scoring: Each division will have awards for both the Medal Class and the two round competition.
For a rider to go on to the jump off they must have 2 clear rounds without time faults.
The first round is run as an equitation round.
The second round is run as an AM5A (Speed) competition.
Riders not having two clear rounds will be placed on their total number of faults for the two rounds and time in the second round.
The results from these two classes, ie the two round competition and the Medal placings will be carried forward to the master score board to determine team and individual placings.
Points will be calculated on the following system: 1st – 7 points, 2nd -5 points, 3rd – 4 points, 4th – 3 points, 5th – 2 points, 6th – 1 point.
If there is an equality of points then the points for the two round competitions will determine placing for the team.
If there is still an equality of points, then the points from the Medal rounds will determine placings.
If there is still an equality of points, the total faults from the top 3 riders will be added and the team with the least faults will place.
If at this time teams are still tied a coin will be tossed. Champion and Reserve Champion awards will be presented to the 1st and 2nd placed teams.
Ribbons to 6th place in each division.
Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ride in the Medal competition in each division. All horses must be 5 years old or older to compete. Members may ride 2 horses in the competition; the horses must be entered in different height divisions.
No sharing of horses is permitted.
