Sassafras is a full sister to Arielen Sherbrooke who was Junior Champion Gelding at the recent VAWS.

Arielen Adelaide (Dalgangle Limelight x Dalgangle Snow Queen) also won her senior dry mare class at the VAWS.

By coincidence Adelaide is full sister to Arielen Red Adair who was Junior Champion Gelding at last year’s VAWS.

MISTWOOD PARK had no foals this year, but we have again got mares in foal and are very excited.

We have just picked up the Section B mares, Mistwood Lucy and Coolavin Pearl who are in foal to Karanga Riverdance and also have Hazelmere Qutee in foal to Osory Tombola.

We are just starting our fencing and yard building program at long last and enjoying doing some local shows with the Section C mare Bookra Pocket Edition and Section B mare Mistwood Enchantress.

We are hoping to really get back into the swing of things next show season! ANDELAINE STUD is pleased to announce the arrival of Andelain The Highlander, a chestnut roan colt by Burrowa True Replica out of Andelain Lady Hawk.

He is the first of two foals due by Replica.

The Highlander has been sold to Linda Fraser of the Gwenhart Stud and she will be standing him at stud as her future stud stallion.

Linda looks forward to hitting the show ring with him and I welcome her to the world of Welsh Cobs and hope she enjoys her future with this promising young colt.

Andelain The Enchantress is due to foal mid March to Replica and I am hoping for a filly to go on with, however time will tell.

I am also eagerly awaiting Acheron Night and Day’s foal due any day now, by Fleur De Lys Alladin.

Burrowa Moonlight Express by Burrowa Digri out of Fleur De Lys Harmony is showing great promise as my new Stud stallion and I look forward to his maturity.

Cheers to all – Nadie Reid MITHRIL was really pleased to sell our very athletic Section C yearling colt Mithril Surad to Noeline Goss of Goldrush Stud, which is situated in far north western Queensland.

Surad (Barnon Mikardo x Fernhill Champagne by Owendale Brandyman) made the long trek from Kilmore to Cairns recently, and was described by the truck driver as ‘A real little champion’ because of his good manners and cooperative attitude.

The very lengthy trip took even longer than usual because Cyclone Olga got in the way, but Noeline reports that Surad is now at home with her at Georgetown and he is turned out with some geldings as paddock mates.

All at Mithril wish Noeline and her daughters all the best with this colt, and we look forward to hearing reports of him competing in campdrafts in the future.

At long last the filly drought is over and we have finally had a Section C filly born this Spring.

After four colts in a row we were getting worried that Meithrin Lavender & Lace didn’t have it in her to give us a filly but we have been very lucky this spring, she is our only foal, by Cataraqui Hasufel, and she is a beauty.

Next spring we are expecting five Section C foals and a Part Welsh out of our Thoroughbred mare by Cataraqui Hasufel so hopefully there might be a few more fillies in that bunch! Hasufel did extremely well again at the Victorian All Welsh Show this year with Supreme Champion Section C 26 Action Autumn 2010 again and whisper had it that he was runner-up Best Welsh in Hand Exhibit as well.

Needless to say we are so very proud of him.

Best wishes to all from our RPG.

Teresa Townsend (Publicity Officer) O VICTORIA – Gippsland & Peninsula N BEHALF of the Gippsland and Peninsula RPG we hope everyone has had a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.

Many thanks to members of Committee, Judges, Sponsors and Competitors for all their work towards our Youngstock Show.

Although numbers were down somewhat the quality of ponies was great.

We are now organising our Foal Show to be held on 25rd of April at Tonimbuk.

Please see this Action for details.

We were so pleased with the Tyrella rosettes that we have decided to make them a permanent feature of our foal show.

We hope our prize winners enjoy them.

Our AGM is fast approaching and is to be held at Tooradin Sports Club on the 30th of May at 7.00pm.

Everyone is welcome, remember this is not just an AGM – it’s a social occasion.

It will be a great night to catch up prior to Winter.

STUD NEWS PRIMROSE PARK is delighted to have acquired the outstanding Section A stallion Weston Park Talybont from Robert and Martina Leso in NSW.

He should be home here at Primrose Park by the time Action goes to print.

We have sold an upstanding bay Section C colt by Bookra Legal Edition from Cherrytree Sarah, to Nikki Rodgers.

We wish Nikki all the best with Primrose Park Starlight Express.

We hear that Virginia Guest’s Primrose Park Polo, Section A gelding has been doing some winning in saddle pony classes, most recent being Wonthaggi/Bass Valley agricultural show, well done Virginia and Polo.

Soon we will have our work cut out weaning foals.

Cheryl Bunting We would like to invite members (new and old) to our meetings.

If anyone has any news or information they would like to add to our roundup please feel free to contact one of our office bearers.

Meetings are held at Costellos Hotel Pakenham on the third Monday of every month.

Dinner at 7.00pm, meeting at 8.00pm.

Sharon Purcell – Publicity Officer VICTORIA – Yarra Valley A BIG TURN OUT of Yarra Valley members at this year’s Vic All Welsh Show and most of those without ponies created a great cheer squad for those competing, while on the competition side there was plenty of success in the show ring.

Now we will undoubtably have some members who are headed to the Nationals and wish them all luck.

This year is our 10th Anniversary Foal Show held on Sunday the 2nd of May at Glenbrae Equestrian Centre Wandin, so keep a look out for the program and further details and we look forward to another successful show.
